Now that Stelco has filed for creditor protection under CCAA
(Companies Creditors Arrangement Act) it is time for our organization members
to meet.
In appreciation of strong support from our organization
membership we, your SSPO Steering
Committee, offer you this opportunity to better understand, with the help of
our legal counsel, Koskie Minsky, the situation that we are now in.
Representatives from Koskie Minsky will be in attendance to
explain the CCAA process with its difficult-to-predict outcome, and their
potential legal costs. They will answer your questions from the floor
microphones about CCAA and its potential impact on our pensions and benefits.
Questions may also be directed to the SSPO Committee.
The meeting is open to members of our SSPO organization,
both pensioners and active employees, in Ontario Stelco salaried pension
plans. For non-members of SSPO,
registration forms can be filled in at the door to obtain instant membership.
