UPDATE – UNILATERAL REDUCTION IN HEALTH BENEFITS BY STELCO INC.
Dear Member
As you will recall, on June 5th the SSPO Board sent a letter to Stelco CEO Rodney Mott to register strong opposition to the unilateral reduction of Health and Welfare Benefits announced by Stelco on May 5th, and requesting a meeting to discuss the matter.
A reply was received from Mr. Mott on June 13th, and deemed to be totally unacceptable by the SSPO Board. In addition our request for a meeting was ignored.
In response, a letter was sent by counsel on behalf of the SSPO Board to put Stelco Inc. on notice that the proposed cuts are viewed as unlawful.
