Where are they now ...
The Hamilton Spectator BILL FERGUSON Lake Erie union president It's smooth sailing for Ferguson who has already hashed
out a contract for the next three years. He has been a union leader at Lake
Erie Plant since it opened and was re-acclaimed as the union president in
March. COURTNEY PRATT Former Stelco CEO He hands over his position as Stelco's CEO to Rodney Mott
and moves into the position of chair of a new board of directors. Pratt was
asked to leave his post in January by the three major Stelco financiers now
controlling the majority of the firm. ROLF GERSTENBERGER Hilton Works union president His fate as union president will be decided in Monday's
Local 1005 election. If he wins the title, he will head to the negotiating
table with Stelco's new CEO to hammer out a collective agreement for union
employees at the Hilton Works plant. JUSTICE JAMES FARLEY Ontario Superior Court Justice Retirement is on the horizon for the judge who spent the
past two years pushing the key players to develop a plan to save Stelco.
After 17 years on the bench, Farley's career will officially wrap up April 20
with a public tribute. HAP STEPHEN Chief restructuring officer He spent the past two years wrapped up in the steel
plant's efforts to emerge from bankruptcy protection. The project took up the
majority of his time and he now plans to take some vacation this summer. RICHARD ORZY Bondholder lawyer Stelco's restructuring process is not viewed as a high
point by Orzy who represented the bondholders throughout the two years. He
said he is glad the process is over and he has moved on to other cases. |
