Mayor Di Ianni is hosting a “Stand Up For Stelco” rally to be held at Hamilton City Hall on Monday, November 7, 2005 at noon to show the City of Hamilton’s support for Stelco and the current restructuring plan and to recognize the important role Stelco plays in our community,. Local dignitaries, representatives from both the provincial and federal governments, union members and pensioners will be asked to give brief two to three minute statements endorsing the restructuring plan.

To show our support we are asking as many retirees as possible to attend the rally. It is hoped that a large turnout will help promote a result that will avoid a liquidation of Stelco, which would be a disastrous outcome for retirees and for the community.
